IMERSE Lab: Tumor Segmentation

The tumor segmentation work at IMERSE Lab spans two related pipelines built around a shared goal: identifying where a tumor margin is during endoscopic tumor resection.

• The Margin Model measures how much margin remains, reporting a cumulative view of resection progress that updates each time a new cut encroaches on the tumor boundary.
• The Toolhead-Following Model measures how the current cut is tracking in real time, following the surgical tool as it moves to build a continuously updated estimate of the resected region.
• Together, the two models support both margin assessment and intraoperative guidance.
